In Loving Memory

Marie Antoinette Potter, known to family and friends as Toni, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday May 12, 2011 at the young age of 55. A beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend she will be missed by all. She is survived by her son Clint, husband Phil, father Dick, mother Mimi, brother Rick, sister Babs, and many more friends and family.

Even a novel couldn’t capture this beautiful, vibrant woman’s life with words, but I want to share some of the minute details that add up to make a person who they are. Toni’s favorite color was red; bold, strong, and bright just like her. She had a love and loyalty that extended from the Beatles and black and white Hollywood stars all the way to her friends and family. She was kind and forgiving, and open to giving people the second chances we all need. Just like her love for the Beatles never faded, her love for her family and friends stood strong over the years. Because of this unconditional love and loyalty, Toni has innumerable life-long friendships. A void will be left in more lives than we can imagine.

Toni also loved Nacho Cheese Duritos, Pepsi, reading, watching movies, and spending time with the people she cared about.

When I was young, I used to compliment her on her cute scrunchies or jewelry, because of her fun sense of style. Whenever I did this, she would insist on giving me the earrings/scrunchie or whatever it was I had said was cute. This is just one example of her generousity and the love she had for us as her neices. We were and will always be her ‘angels’.

As someone with a love for writing and literture herself, Toni has been on of my biggest cheerleaders and fans. Her words of encouragement to follow my dreams will forever echo in my mind, as will her life and memory in the lives of all those she has touched.

Even as she battled Cancer over the last nine months, Toni kept a smile on her face and the faces of those around her. She never wanted to see anybody she cared about go through pain or sadness, especially on her account. So today, we celebrate the life of Toni Potter. We celebrate the good times and memories of the woman we will forever hold in our hearts.

We will remember and love her always.
